Find A Grave

Find A Grave is a free website owned by Ancestry.com. The records included are all contributed by volunteers, and are by no means to be considered all-inclusive or error-free. You are encouraged to become a member and contribute your family burial information to this valuable resource, but please read their very helpful FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) pages in order to familiarize yourself with their rules and procedures. A smartphone app is available.

BillionGraves

Like Find A Grave, BillionGraves records are added by volunteers, the difference being that BillionGrave's records are added by taking an actual photograph of a headstone, then uploading it to their website, where volunteers transcribe the information from the headstones into their database. Photographs taken for BillionGraves have GPS markers showing the exact location of the graves photographed. Contributing to BillionGraves requires a smartphone or a GPS-enabled camera. A smartphone app is available.

The Texas Tombstone Transcription Project for Comal County

Another volunteer gravesite-recording website. Not as well-known, perhaps, as Find A Grave, but still helpful.
