Parker, James Robbins (Jimmy)
James Robbins (Jimmy) Parker, age 71, of Elkhart, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at his residence. A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:00 A.M., at Pilgrim Cemetery in Elkhart with Chaplain Don Stanaland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bailey & Foster.
Jimmy was born November 17, 1943 in Elkhart, Texas to Clayton Miles Parker and Gertrude Marie (McCarter) Parker. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1962. Upon graduation, he went to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad, which later became Union Pacific Railroad. Starting out as a fireman, he worked his way up to become an engineer, getting to drive the big "Choo-Choos."  He retired from the railroad after 42 years of dedicated service.
Jimmy served numerous terms as an Elkhart City Councilman, and was also a former Mayor and volunteer fireman for many years. His knowledge of city government workings was beyond belief.  He was a very respected man and you could always count on his council, advice and wisdom.
His favorite pastime was sitting on his front porch enjoying long visits with anyone that stopped by. He was an avid collector of fine cigars and was very active in the fantasy football and baseball leagues.
He will be lovingly remembered for his "biting" sarcasm and witty sense of humor. Anyone who knew Jimmy was touched in their own way by the gentle and kind man he truly was.

Faye spent many hours in labors of love handcrafting the most special gifts for her grandchildren to treasure for their lifetimes.
In 2009, Faye and Earnest moved to Mansfield to be closer to Lori so she could take care of them. It was not a popular decision for Earnest but Faye made it easier for him every way she could.
Faye loved her games and was quite the Scrabble player, if she could get anyone to play her, since she won most of the time. In her later years, she took up writing poetry and enjoyed SkipBo and Uno with her treasured friends.
Faye spent most of her life in the service of others whether it was cooking, crafting, sewing or her work in the Church teaching Sunday school or being a "bus mom". She will be remembered by her loving and graceful ways and her compassion for others.
