WELCOME!!! To Anderson County TXGenWeb |
Welcome to the Anderson County TXGenWeb site. My name is Laura Gregory Roberts and I am the volunteer County Coordinator. I hope that with the help of the fine folks of the county I will be able to make this a site that helps all that visit. If you would like to submit information, please contact me.
NOTE: I only do transcribing and helping people with genealogical research. I have nothing to do with the cemetery, so if you are looking for information on purchasing plots or rules and regulations of the cemetery, contact the caretaker or a local funeral home.

Antioch Also known as Old Berryman Cemetery, Plentitude Cemetery and Hanks Cemetery |
Information is from Find A Grave Location
Montalba, Anderson County, Texas, USA Antioch Cemetery is abandoned and overgrown. It is sometimes called Plentitude, which was a nearby community. Hanks and Old Berryman are other names the cemetery has been known by because many buried there were members of those families. It is a large cemetery, about 800 by 300 feet, but difficult to see the gravestones because it is overgrown with brush and trees. The cemetery is on private property.Driving directions from Palestine, Texas - drive north on Anderson County Road (ACR) 403 to its junction with ACR 414. Stop and look to the right. You will see a metal gate crossing a road which is the beginning of the road to the cemetery. The gate doesn't open due to brush and other plant growth. The road has washed out sections so it is not passable for most vehicles. |

Boseman Chapel Cemetery |
Boseman Chapel Cemetery Boseman Chapel Cemetery was founded in the 1850's after the foundation of the small Primitve Baptist Church. The land that the church and cemetery occupied was bought by Hamp Boseman at a sheriff's sale during the late 1800's or early 1900's. It was shortly afterwards that the church was abandoned. The cemetery continued to be used through 1950. Today the church is no longer standing. The cemetery can be found in a large group of woods. However, only a few markers can be found. There are approximately 33 graves marked by iron ore rocks. The cemetery is located on Lock Branch approximately 5 miles north of the Friendship Baptist Church of Blackfoot. Source: Cemeteries of Anderson County, Texas compiled by the Anderson County Sesquicentennial Historical Division Committee and the Anderson County Historical Commission in 1990.
