Korean War

Frank C. Flores Jr., Carlos Reyes Jr., James Stout, and David Warfield. Captain Lano Cox Jr., son of Judge and Mrs. Lano Cox Sr., a pilot with the U. S. Army Aviation in the 79th Infantry Division under General Eisenhower in France and Germany during World War II, received the Purple Heart and the Croix De Guerre Awards after he was injured. He also served with the American Forces in Korea. After his return he was stationed at Fort Sill and, while flying a plane from Fort Sill to Louisiana, a navy plane collided with his ship and he was killed in the crash.

Vietnam War

Lieutenant Aubrey Martin, Tom Swinnea, Tomas Gonzales, Leo Schroeller Jr., Don E. Thompson, Robert Salinas, Rodolfo G. Ybarra, and Robert Salinas Longoria.

Sammy Dion Hoff was reported missing in action and to this day no account has been given of him.

Two men who had served in Vietnam died after they returned to the United States - Alfredo Barrera and Sylvester C. Martinez.

Copy of Texas Ranger Discharge for Albert M. Handly, Sr. of Clareville. He was the g-g-grandfather of Will Beauchamp. Copy obtained from a Handly cousin to his grandmother Winona Bee (Handly) Matheson. It is said he was enlisted one other time as well.

1Louis Barlow, born in New York in 1830, gardener came to Texas in 1850 and lived in Blanconia, Bee Co, Texas. He served in Co F. 8, Texas Infantry, Hobby's Infantry, Bee's Brigade and died on January 16, 1911, aged 81. Buried in the Confederate Field, Section 1, Row C, Number 20. Death Certificate #2321.

War in Iraq

Roberto Vallejo II, Bee County, Texas
Army 1st Lt. Roberto Vallejo II, 28, of Richland Hills, Texas; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment, 36th Combat Aviation Brigade, Texas Army National Guard, Grand Prairie, Texas; died Sept. 17, 2008 when the CH-47 Chinook helicopter he was in went down in the vicinity of Tallil, Iraq.

First Lt. Robert Vallejo II was a Chinook pilot born in Bee County.

Vallejo, a pilot who was posthumously promoted to captain, is survived by his wife Hillary Ann. He joined the National Guard in April 1999.
