COLEMAN, H. B., Beeville Bee, 23 Mar 1900:

Mr. H. B. Coleman, the aged father-in-law of Major J. W. Perkins, whose serious 
illness was reported in the Bee on the 16th, died Friday morning at 2:20 o’clock, 
having succumbed to the maladies of extreme age.  

The deceased was in his ninety-second year and had been a resident of Texas 
since 1846.  He was a native of Kentucky and removed to Falls County where the 
town of Marlin now stands in this year and resided there until 1897 when he moved 
to Bee County with his son-in-law, Major Perkins, with whom he has made his home 
since the death of his wife twenty odd years ago.
