CREATH, Dr. L. B., Beeville Bee, 13 Jan 1899: A telegram was received here this morning from Lon C. Hill, announcing the death of Dr. L. B. Creath at Charco, Goliad County at 6 o’clock. The funeral occurring the following evening, the interment being made in the cemetery near the doctor’s house. Dr. Creath was well known, having resided here in Beeville for several years prior to 1896. He was one of the organizers of the Commercial National Bank and was its first president. As a physician he had practiced a number of years in Washington County. He was the son of Rev. Creath, one of the pioneers of Texas and an intimate friend of General Sam Houston.
