LUCAS, Mrs. Louisa, Beeville Bee, 4 Jan 1901:

Mrs. Louisa Lucas, wife of Mr. R. M. Lucas, an old resident of this section, and mother 
of Mr. C. B. Lucas of Berclair, died on Christmas day at the residence of her daughter, 
Mrs. Sol Parks, a few miles east of Goliad.  

The deceased was a native of England and came to Texas with her husband in 1853.  

Two years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Lucas celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and 
had she lived until next month, they would have been married 53 years.  Mr. and Mrs. 
Lucas lived the greater part of this time on the ranch now occupied by their son, on 
the Blanco near the Bee County line.
