ABBOTT, Mrs. Mattie, Beeville Bee, Friday, 10 Oct 1902:

Mrs. Mattie ABBOTT, the aged wife of W. L. ABBOTT, died at the family residence in 
this city on Monday morning after having been confined in her bed for several weeks 
from injuries received by a fall. Her remains were shipped to Lampasas on Tuesday 
for intermen, accompanied by her husband, his brother, Honorable Joe Abbott of 
Hillsboro and Samuel Edward of Lampasas, brother-in-law of the deceased. 

Mrs. Abbott and her husband have been residents of this city for several years, and 
during their stay have made many friends left to mourn her.
