Archer, Col. T. S., Beeville Bee, Friday, 25 Mar 1892:

Tilden., Mar. 13th.  On the morning of he 26th of Feb. the people of Tilden were startled by the 
unexpected death of Col. T. S. Archer, County Judge of this county.  His death is supposed to 
have been caused by congestion of the lungs.  Col. Archer was an old and respected citizen 
of this county and well known throughout the district, as a lawyer of great ability and his death 
is greatly regretted by many friends and family.  The duty developing upon the Commissioners 
Court to fill the vacancy; they accordingly met on the 25th of March and appointed the ex-Judge 
William Kuykendall to serve out the expired term.
