BUELOW, John P., Beeville Bee, Friday, 17 Jan 1902: Death of John P. Buelow. The entire community was shocked on Wednesday morning over the news that quickly spread over the city of the sudden death of Mr. John P. BUELOW, a well-known merchant, caused from heart failure. He had been ill for several days previous, but on Wednesday morning he felt much better and spoke to his wife about coming down to his place of business. Mr. C. F. RUDOLPH had just arrived to do some carpenter work when Mr. Buelow came from a short walk around the premises and sat down on the door step and spoke of feeling weak. Mr. Rudolph advised him to go into the house and took hold of his arm to assist him to arise, when he noticed that something very serious was the matter. Calling Mrs. Buelow they lifted him inside and in a few minutes he breathed his last. The deceased was a young man, just passed thirty-five, and has been identified with Beeville for more than ten years. The remains were taken to Bellville, his old home for interment yesterday, being accompanied by the grief stricken widow, his business partner, Mr. Ed L. BURKE, and Dr. D. M. THURSTON and N. B. WALKER as representatives of the Sons of Herman and Knights of Pythias of which orders the deceased was a highly esteemed member.
