CARNEY, Dan, Beeville Bee or Picayune, Friday, 1 Nov 1912: Dan Carney Dead The remains of Dan Carney, an aged Irishman, were brought to Beeville from Goliad Monday evening and interred in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in compliance with his dying wish, that he be buried by the side of his old friend, the late Patrick Caanaugh. He had been a resident of Goliad for several years but before taking up his residence there he had been a ranchman in Live Oak County. By the terms of his will his estate valued at some $15,000 to $20,000, goes to the Catholic Church in the event that two sisters in Ireland cannot be located. A singular coincidence in this is that his old friend Mr. Cavanaugh, who also had two sisters, made a similar request, both being bachelors. As of this writing, Mr. Cavanaugh's sisters have not yet been found.
