CORDES, G. D., Beeville Bee, Friday, 12 Aug 1904:

In the death of G. D CORDES, which occurred at his home on the Refugio road several miles 
below town last Friday night, the county lost one of its most practical farmers and enterprising 
yeomen.

The deceased was but a little past thirty-six years of age and had been a resident of this county 
for ten years or more, and by his industry and energy acquired two splendid farms.

In 1898 he was united in marriage to Miss Barbara MEINRATH, of this city, who survives him.  

The funeral of Mr. Cordes took place on Saturday evening, the interment took place in the new 
cemetery, attended by the local lodge of Sons of Hermann of which he was a member.
