DAVISON, Stephen G., Beeville Bee, Friday, 7 May 1909: Death of a Pioneer. In the death of Stephen G. DAVISON, which occurred at his home on the San Domingo Creek, Monday morning, another of the few remaining pioneer settlers of this county was called to his reward. The deceased was born in Polk County, Missouri, March 23, 1831 and had attained the ripe old age of 78 years, one month and 10 days. He came to Texas in 1848 and settled in Dallas County, where he was united in marriage in 1855 to Miss. Sirila CARVER, who with six children survive him. He located in Bee County in 1867, locating on the site of his late abode, residing there continuously for forty-two years. He was a man of unimpeachable integrity, of peaceful disposition, a good neighbor, and a good citizen. It is not on record that he ever had a difference or a disagreement with his fellow man. Since early manhood he has been a consistent member of the Methodist Church, the tenets of his faith being a part of his daily life. The funeral took place Tuesday morning, religious services being conducted by Rev. I. T. Morris, the remains being interred in the San Domingo Cemetery. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons and four daughter and three grandchildren. His sons, Joshua and Solomon Davison, and daughters, Mesdames W. B. ROBERTS, J. H. WEBB, J. W. BARCLAY, & J. W. NUTT are all of this county.
