DOLAN, James A., Beeville Bee, Friday, 4 Jul 1902: Death of James A. DOLAN. The large circle of friends of J. A. DOLAN, were shocked to hear of his untimely death at the Santa Rosa hospital in San Antonio Wednesday evening. While it was known he had been ill for many months. The deceased was well and favorably known in this and adjoining counties, being a native of this section and a vision of one of the pioneer families. He was born and reared at Gussettville, in Live Oak county and came to Beeville several years ago, where he has since made his home. Several months ago he contracted a cold which developed into pneumonia from the effects of which he sought in vain a change of air for relief. For the past two months he had been sojourning in Del Rio and finding no relief started to return when he was taken at the worse in San Antonio where the end came. His remains arrived on the afternoon train yesterday and were taken to Gussettville for interment and were accompanied to their resting-place by a number of Beeville friends. The deceased was in the 34th year of age and leaves a wife and child and numerous friends to mourn his loss.
