DOUGLAS, Walter Greesward, Beeville Picayune, 2 Jul 1913:

W. G. Douglas, age 53 years, 11 months and 9 days, died Tuesday night at 9:45 o'clock 
from the results of an operation performed at the SAP Railroad Hospital in Cuero about 
a month ago.  Mr. Douglas suffered with a tubercular knee joint and the operation was 
for the purpose of preserving the joint.  He was able to come home and has been under 
the care of a local physicial but had never done well and death relieved him of his suffering 
Tuesday night.  The funeral was held from the family residence yesterday afternoon with 
interment in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mr. Douglas was a Woodsman and that order had charge of his funeral.  He had been in 
the employ of the SAP for about twenty five years, the last four or five of which has been in 
Beeville serving here as baggage master and in the freight room.
