DUBOSE, Mrs. Minerva, Beeville Bee, Friday, 3 Mar 1903: Mrs. Minerva DUBOSE died at the residence of her son-in-law, C. M. BROWN, on last Saturday afternoon after an illness of a week or more. The deceased was in her 74th year and was a native of Mississippi, where shortly before the outbreak of the civil war she was married to Matthew HARDIE. During the war her husband having enlisted in the cause of the south, her father moved to Texas and settled in Gonzales County. Procuring a furlough in 1863, Mr. HARDIE moved his wife to Texas and returned to the front, and sickened and died of disease for the close of hostilities in 1865. In 1870 the deceased married James L DUBOSE and moved to DeWitt County. Her husband dying a few years thereafter she remained a resident of that county until three years ago when she came to Beeville to reside with a daughter, Mrs. C. M. BROWN, a daughter of her first marriage. In addition to Mrs. Brown she leaves a daughter, Mrs. C. F. AINSWORTH of Scurry County and a son, J. L DUBOSE, of DeWitt County, the latter the only child of her last marriage. Mrs. Dubose had been a member of the Baptist church for more than fifty years. Her interment took place on Sunday afternoon in the old cemetery, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J. M. SALLEE.
