EIDSON, Mrs. Jane, Beeville Bee, Wednesday, 3 Apr 1891:

Mrs. Jane Eidson died at her residence on South Washington street last Friday night at 
11:45 o’clock and interred in the Beeville Cemetery Saturday evening at 4 o’clock.  The 
burial ceremonies were conducted by Rev. G. H. M. Wilson of the Baptist Church of 
which Mrs. Eidson has been a consistent member for over 40 years. Deceased was 
60 years of age, a native of Carroll Co. Mississippi.  In 1852 she emigrated with her husband 
to Lavaca Co. Texas, where he died in 1874, leaving her the care of 8 children, five boys and 
three girls, all of whom she has seen arrive at the age of maturity.  About a year ago, Mrs. Eidson 
with her two youngest sons and daughters moved to this city, of which place one of her oldest 
sons, Mr. C. P. Eidson has been a resident for many years.
