ELLIS, Ralph V., Beeville Bee, Friday, 9 Mar 1906: Death of Ralph V. Ellis. News of the death of Ralph V. ELLIS, at Nacogdoches, Texas reached here by telephone Tuesday morning shortly after it occurred, and was a source of much regret to the friends and acquaintances of his family, who have known him from childhood. He had been in Nacogdoches for four or five months and was in the employ of a lumber mill at that joint when stricken with pneumonia about a week or ten days before his death. His mother reached his bedside last Sunday night and was with him at the time of death. The remains arrived here Wednesday morning at 6:30 and were taken to the Nations Hotel parlor, where at 10 o'clock an anti-burial services was held by Rev. J. F. Webb, the interment taking place in the New Cemetery. The deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Ellis, old residents of the county, and was 28 years, 6 months and 3 days old at the time of his death, and with the exception of the short time of his residence of Nacogdoches, had spent all his life in this county. Besides his parents, he leaves a wife and three children, and four brothers to survive him.
