J. W. "Billy" Gray

News of the death of J. W. Gray at his home in Douglas, Arizona, which occurred 
Sunday, was received here by relatives in a message conveying the sad information 
the same day. He had been ill but a short time while pneumonia being the cause of 
his unexpected death.

Mr. Gray, for many years resided here and has a son, Lee, living here now. While here 
he was employed in Gugenheim & Cohn's and other dry goods stores and was well 
known to practically every citizen of this county at that time.

He also resided in Goliad for a while and there married Miss Edna Simmons, some 
eighteen or nineteen years ago. He has resided with his family in Douglas for twelve 
years or longer and some five years ago was out for a visit. The Picayune extends 
the sincerest sympathy to the bereaved.
