HARRISON, Bessie, Beeville Bee, Wednesday, 18 Mar 1891: The Bee regrets to chronicle the death of Miss Bessie Harrison, a beautiful young girl of sixteen summers, residing with her parents at LaGrange. The young lady was on her way to the cemetery in company with her younger sister and a young man. They took the railroad track up the MK&T which runs past the house where Miss Harrison resides. When near the house a freight train came into view. A switch occurred in the road at that place and the trio stepped on the side track as the train approached them. All would have been well had not Miss Harrison become excited and on the spur of the moment stepped back on the train track. J. R. Harrison and G. M. Gentry, brother and brother-in-law of the deceased who reside in this city were telegraphed last Friday, the day of the occurrence and left Saturday for the funeral.
