HART, Timothy (Tim), Beeville Picayune, Thursday, 14 May 1931: Pioneer Citizen of Bee County Dead. Tim HART, (Timothy) born in Ireland died at San Antonio May 11, 1931. The remains of Tim Hart, 84, who died in San Antonio, Texas Monday, May 11, at 9 a. m. were brought to Beeville on the night train for interment. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Tuesday a. m. at 9 0'clock, Father Dan Laning conducted the rites. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Mr. Hart was born in Ireland. His father, Teddy Hart died and was buried at sea, when he and his wife, Mary Hart, were in route to America with their children as members of the Power and Hewetson Colony. Mrs. Hart was given the league and labor of land which would have gone to her husband had he lived. Mr. Hart was married to Miss Gussie WEST, (Augusta) Oct. 21, 1878 in Refugio where his mother had established her home and the couple moved at once to the Papalote section of Bee County. He continued his residence there for many years, returning to Refugio for two years to take care of his mother in her illness. Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hart, two of whom, Claud and Dick Hart, survive and reside in San Antonio. A son, Tom Hart, died seven months ago at Lake Charles, Louisiana. A daughter, Mary Ellen died shortly after her marriage to E. J. Miller, of this city some years ago. A twin sister of Mrs. Miller died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Hart moved from the ranch at Papalote to Skidmore following the death of their daughter. Mrs. Hart died there in 1918, after which Mr. Hart came to Beeville to make his home with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Betz, for two years. In 1920, he went to San Antonio to reside with his son and had continued to make his home there for some time. He had been an invalid but his passing was sudden and unexpected.
