HODGES, D. W., Beeville Bee, 22 Jan 1904:

D. W. HODGES, a former resident of the county for the past 15 years engaged in 
stockraising in Cameron county, died in Brownsville last Saturday night. 

The deceased was a native of Mississippi and in his seventy-third year. He was a 
brother to Capt. J. S. Hodges, founder of the town of Pettus and was a resident of 
this county at the time of the building of the Aransas Pass Railroad.
