Hood, Annie, Beeville Bee, Friday, 7 May 1909: Death of Former Beeville Lady. The Nacogdoches Sentinel of April 26, contains the following account of the death of Mrs. J. L. HOOD, nee Annie MILLER, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. S. L. Miller, who was well known and highly esteemed by many here. Mrs. John L. Hood, after a week's illness died Sunday morning about 3:30 o'clock at their home on Hospital Street. Mrs. Hood was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. S. L. Miller of this city and has been married about 18 months. She was reared in Wilmer and Pine Bluff, Arkansas and Beeville, Texas. The latter place and San Antonio being where she was educated. She is survived by a husband, parents and two sisters, one being 16 years of age and one seven years of age. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the City Cemetery and was one of the largest attended in Nacogdoches. Revs. J. W. Mills and J. H. Davies conducting the final services at the grave, the mound marking the resting place of the remains being literally covered with roses and other flowers.
