HULL, Mrs. Lillie, Beeville Bee-Picayune, Thursday. 6 Oct 1927, front page: Remains of Mrs. J. C. Hull Brought Here. Former Beeville Resident Killed By Street Car in San Antonio Monday Morning. The remains of Mrs. J. C. Hull, (Lillie) were brought to Beeville from San Antonio Tuesday afternoon on the 3:15 p.m. train and conveyed to the First Baptist Church where Rev. 0. B. Hill conducted the religious service. Internment was in Glenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Hull was killed Monday morning when she was run down by a street car near her home on South Presa Street. She had gone to the car line to put her grandson, Tom Hull, Jr. on a car. He was starting to school. As she left to return home a street car from the opposite direction ran her down and dragging her about 12 or 15 feet. She was rushed to the hospital where she died from the injuries shortly afterwards. Mrs. Hull, wife of Dr. J. C. Hull, who formerly owned what is now the Atkinson Drug Store, resided here for a number of years, the family moving to San Antonio several years ago. She had many friends here who grieve with the family in her tragic death. While a resident of this city one of her sons, Cooper, had the misfortune to be accidentally killed while out hunting. She had made many pilgrimages to his grave here since moving to San Antonio and it was by his side that her remains were placed Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Hull was about 60 years of age. She is survived by her husband and 3 sons, Dr. Austin Hull, Tom Hull and J. C. Hull, all of San Antonio, several grandchildren and numerous other relatives. A charge of negligent homicide has been filed again J. J. Fox, street car motorman who was in charge of the car which ran over Mrs. Hull.
