IRWIN, Dr. Will S., Beeville Bee or Picayune, Friday, 4 Apr 1913: Funeral of Dr. Will S. Irwin. The remains of Dr. Will S. Irwin of Falfurrias, whose death occurred in San Antonio last Friday, were brought to Beeville Friday night and on Saturday morning were laid to rest in the Beeville Cemetery. His funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings numerous and beautiful. The death of Dr. Irwin came in the full-tide of his manhood and in the midst of a brilliant and successful professional career. He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Irwin and a native of this county, having been born near Skidmore, October 22, 1877. As a child he resided in Brownsville, Beeville and Georgetown and was an alumnus of the State University. Selecting the medical profession as a vocation, he attended and graduated from the medical department of the University of Tennessee and also took a post graduate course at Tulane University. Locating in Falfurrias he immediately took a position in the front rank of the profession in this section of the state, being regarded as one of the best posted in the profession. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. M. G. Irwin of this city and a sister, Mrs. W. E. Madderra, besides a numerous connection in this city and county.
