LAWLEY, Lewis, Beeville Bee, Friday, 29 May 1908: Lewis LAWLEY is dead. It hardly seems possible. Verily in the midst of life we are in death. But a few days ago Lewis Lawley, just entering a vigorous young manhood with prospects bright and full of hope, was in the best of health, but attendance upon the husband of his elder sister in a San Antonio sanitaruim caused him to take to his bed with typhoid fever. The battle was not long and Monday last his soul was called back to its Maker. Lewis was in his twenty-seventh year, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Lawley of Oakville, where the remains were intered Wednesday. He is survived by his aged father and mother and two sisters, to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended.
