News of the death of W. J., more familiarly known as Edward, LOTT reached this 
city Tuesday, the sad event occurring at his home near CLIP station in Goliad 
county at an early hour Tuesday morning after an illness of a week. 

Mr. Lott was the son of one of the pioneers of the San Antonio valley and spent 
the years of his life in this section. The owner of a large ranch in this county, its 
operation brought him frequently in contact with the people here, and perhaps the 
death of no one not a resident here would have caused more general expressions 
of regret.
