The interment was in Glenwood Cemetery. Mr. Meinrath, retired baker, succumbed to a heart attack at 6:10 o'clock Saturday morning. He had been in declining health for several months but news of his passing came as a distinct shock to his many friends, few of them being aware that he had suffered almost daily from angina pectoris for the past 6 months. He had spent Friday afternoon with his friend, C. E. HALL, on the Hall (continued on page #10) ranch and retired feeling as well as usual. He slept well until the fatal attack at 6 o'clock, the end coming before the physician could be summoned. The deceased was a native of Neukirch, Switzerland, a son of John and Elizabeth Meinrath. He was born January 30, 1876. At the age of six years he came to America with his parents, 6 sisters and 2 brothers, the family locating at Corpus Christi. With other members of the family he came to Beeville 8 years later and for 50 years had made this city his home. Mr. Meinrath engaged in farming for a number of years before joining his elder brothers, John and Jake, in the operation of a bakery. He remained in that business until both of his brothers passed away, later retiring because of failing health. He spent the last 6 years looking after his property interests. He loved his home and hometown and was always found at his home at the end of the day, there to welcome his many friends and relatives and watch over and guard his loved ones. Mr. Meinrath was married in 1907 to Miss Johanna HESS of Corpus Christi whose death occurred in 1915. In November of 1917, he was happily married to Miss Minnie Poenish of Corpus Christi and to this union, three children were born, August H. Jr., Dorothy Louise and Kathryn Barbara, who with their mother mourn his untimely passing. Other survivors include 5 sisters, Mrs. R. A. WAGNER, Yoakum; Mrs. Fritz HARTZENDORF, and Mrs. Max BRAUER, of Beeville; Mrs. Annie UEHLINGER, Beaumont; and Mrs. R. O. BRAUER, Monroe, Louisiana.
