Mineral City, August 30, 1890.  The community was made sad by the death of Mr. Mercer which 
occurred on the 28th inst.  He having been afflicted with curvature of the spine for twenty years.  
He however survived his four score of years.  We extend our heartfelt sympathy for the 
bereaved family.
