MITCHELL, William Nave, Beeville Bee, Friday, 23 Jun 1905: After an illness of several weeks, William Nave MITCHELL, a well known citizen of Beeville, died at his home here last Saturday morning. The deceased had been a resident of Beeville, since 1890. He was born in Polk County, Missouri, April 28, 1845, where he lived and followed the business of stock farming until 1884, when he moved to Fort Worth, Texas being attracted there by the sudden prominence of that place as a field of investment. A comfortable fortune was lost there in the collapse of the boom and after two year's residence in San Antonio he moved with his family to Beeville, where he has since lived. Mr. Mitchell was a veteran of the civil war, serving on the federal side and took part in many of the conflicts in the trans-Mississippi campaign. He is survived by a widow and two sons, S. C. Mitchell, manager for A. Praeger hardware establishment, Boyd, who has recently finished school, and Mrs. M. G. OLSEN of Clifton. The funeral took place Sunday morning, services being conducted by Rev. J. M. Sallee, and attended a large number of family friends.
