McCAIN, Mrs. Sarah A., Beeville Bee, Friday, 19 Feb 1904:

Mrs. Sarah A. McCAIN, relict of the late Rev. J. N. McCain, whose death preceded hers just ten 
days ago, died at the residence of her son-in-law C. P. MOORE, at Normanna last Thursday 
evening. 

She was in the seventy-fifth year of her age and had been the devoted companion to her late 
husband for more than fifty years, sharing with him all the hardships and privations incident to 
his early ministry in this section. Her remains were interred in the Normanna cemetery Saturday 
by the side of her lately been called to the reward awaiting him.
