Rees, a resident of Beeville since 1900 died at 4:05 Thursday from an illness of four months. Rosary at the family home Friday night at 8 o'clock conducted by Bernard G. Mrs. Sophia Moser Rees was born in Hallettsville, December 22, 1872, a daughter of William and Caroline Rickaway Moser. On October 28, 1890 she was married to A. F. Rees. Mrs. Rees moved to Beeville in 1900. Mr. Rees died in 1931 and since that time Mrs. Rees had continued to reside in the family home on east Corpus Christi Street. Mrs. Rees was a descendant of Texas pioneers. Her grandfather, Mr. John Christian Rickaway having resided in this territory before Texas became a Republic. She has been a member of the Catholic Church all her life. The survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Alvin Brauer of San Antonio and Mrs. A. R. Taylor of Beeville; a son, Errol Rees of Beeville, a sister, Mrs. L. W. Rees, also of Beeville; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
