SHELLY, Joe, Beeville Picayune, Friday, 24 May 1912:

Joe SHELLY, formerly of this city, died in San Antonio Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock 
after a lingering illness. Mr. Shelly was in the grocery business here for three years but 
disposed of his property and has since resided in San Antonio. 

The remains were shipped to Refugio yesterday for interment. J. F. Malone, of this city left 
for San Antonio as soon as he learned of Mr. Shelly's death. Mrs. Shelly is a niece of Mrs. 
Malone. Beside his wife, Mr. Shelly leaves three children to mourn his untimely death, two 
girls and one boy. He was 34 years of age. Mr. Shelly carried $1000 insurance with the 
WOW order, holding his membership here.
