SHIPP, Miss Josephine, Beeville Bee-Picayune, Thursday, 6 Mar 1952: Mrs. Josephine SHIPP, 88, Dies Sunday, Was Native of Live Oak County. Funeral services for Miss Josephine Shipp, 88, was held Monday Afternoon at 3 o'clock in Galloway Mortuary, the Rev. Everett T. Seale, Pastor of the First Methodist Church officiating. Miss Shipp died Sunday morning March 2nd at the residence of her niece, Mrs. V. L. Kelly, with whom she had been making her home. She had been ill about six months. Mrs. George C. Brown, sang Asleep in Jesus, and In the Garden, Mrs. W. J. COLEMAN, playing the organ accompanist. Internment was in Glenwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were Cliff Shipp, Zack Gorbett, Joe Lee, Lewis Lee, Jim Alexander, and Louis Jacobs. Miss. Shipp was a native of Live Oak County. She was born March 24, 1863. She was the daughter of Putman and Elizabeth Jane (Quirl) Shipp. She resided in Live Oak County until 1907 when she moved to Bee County. She had lived in Bee County since that time. She had been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood. Miss Shipp is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
