SINGLETON, J. H., Beeville Bee, Friday, 29 Jan 1892:

J. H. Singleton, a recent arrival in Beeville, died last Wednesday morning at 8 o’clock.  Deceased 
was a native of Virginia, but more recently a resident of Newton county, Missouri.  He and a brother 
had just established a business on Corpus Christi Street.  In opening up good during the last cold 
snap, Mr. Singleton contracted pneumonia of which he died.
