SKIDMORE, Mrs. Elizabeth A., Beeville Bee, Friday, 15 May 1891:

Died, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Skidmore, at her residence in Corpus Christi, Teas, Friday, May the 
9th of 1891 in the 69th years of her age.  She was born in Page Co. Virginia, March 10, 1823.  
With her husband she came to Texan in December 1853.  She leaves six children, many 
grandchildren.   Her funeral took place at the Baptist Church in Beeville, Sunday, May 10, 1891, 
whence her remains were immediately carried to the cemetery and interred in the presence of 
a large number of people of Beeville and surrounding county.  (A poem written by her children 
follows, called “In Memory of Our Dear Mother.”)
