TAYLOR, Mrs. Julia, Beeville Bee-Picayune, Thursday, 12 Mar 1936, page 8: Funeral Services for Mrs. Taylor This Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Taylor, 78, will be held this (Thursday) afternoon at 4 o'clock at Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Taylor, widow of the late J. F. Taylor, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. R. E. Rigby, at Refugio at 1 o'clock this morning following a brief illness. She was visiting in Refugio at the time. Six children survive, three sons and three daughters. An obituary will be published later. Beeville Bee-Picayune, Thursday, 19 Mar 1936, page 8: Mrs. Julia Taylor The subject of this brief life sketch, Mrs. Julia Taylor, was born at old Marysville on the Medio creek in Bee county January 8, 1857, the daughter of John A. and Martha (Campbell) Glynn, and died at Refugio, Texas March 12, 1936. Her father was a native of Ireland and her mother came from Louisiana. Mrs. Taylor was married October 8, 1874 to John F. Taylor at Lagarto, Texas. They resided in Live Oak county 41 years before moving to Beeville in 1935 to make their home. She continued to make her home here until a few months ago. When her health failed she went to Refugio to live with her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Rigby. Mrs. Taylor was the mother of 10 children, six daughters and four sons. Two children preceded her in death. Survivors are Mrs. Lula Rigby of Refugio; Mrs. Maude Nelson, Palestine; Mrs. Kate Sweeney, Beeville; Mrs. Nettie Hanna, Houston; Mrs. Marie Santrum, Laton, California; Glynn Taylor, Beeville; Scott Taylor, Seadrift; and Lewis Taylor, Annona. Deceased children are Ray Taylor and Mrs. Eunice Thompson. Besides her children Mrs. Taylor is survived by 28 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Baptist church, having joined early in life. The remains were brought to Beeville for interment Thursday afternoon, March 12, the services being held at Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Sam B. Hill, Presbyterian minister in charge. Interment was in Glenwood Cemetery, beside her husband, who preceded her in death but a few months. Active pallbearers were E. B. Hall, Rudolf Miller, Howard Custer, Jr., I. F. Riggs, Edwin and Earnest Kinkler."
