THOMPSON, Hans K., Beeville Bee or Picayune, Thursday. 19 Sep 1918: Hans K. THOMPSON, Dead Hans K. Thompson, a well known farmer residing about four miles east of Normanna, departed this life September 17th at 6:30 a. m. He was stricken with paralysis September 6, and lingered in a semi-conscious condition until death came. Hans Thompson was born April 8, 1840 in Haugesund, Norway. He came to America in 1861 and shortly afterwards entered the service of the Union Army and continued in that service three years. After the war he spent some years in Iowa and Illinois and finally moved to Bee County in 1890 where he has resided continuously and was able to do a full day's work up until the disease overtook him. He was a man of his word, always ready and willing to help a neighbor when his services were needed and won the respect and esteem of all who knew him. He leaves behind a widow and two daughters, Mrs. Carrie Snedal and Mrs. Christine Palmer, all of Normanna. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock, interment being in the Colony Cemetery. Rev. D. A. Ross of Charco had charge of the service.
