Mrs. Nannie Lee Thornton
Mrs. Nannie Lee Thornton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Lee, was born in Bell County, 
Texas, December 23,'65; was married to J. A. Thornton, April 25, '83. Joined the Baptist 
church 1890; died January 14, '95. Was the mother of six children, five of whom with her 
husband, mother, sisters and brother and a host of friends mourn her death. She was 
confined to her bed for several weeks. All that loving hearts, willing hands and medical 
skill could do was done, but without avail. 

She suffered long and patiently, no word of murmur or complaint escaped her lips. Life to 
her 'tis true had many attractions; she loved her husband and children,and would gladly have 
stayed with them, but she was perfectly resigned. to the will of her heavenly Father, who doeth 
all things well, and to whose care she had committed herself with all her interest and loved 
ones, and when she was nearing the Jordan of death, she feared no evil, for His rod and His 
staff were her support. Bereaved ones, dry your tears, weep not, follow her as she followed 
Christ, and ere long you will be united in that blissful land, where sickness, sorrow and death 
are felt and feared no more.
