TIMON, John W., Beeville Bee, Friday, 26 Apr 1907: DEATH OF JOHN W. TIMON John W. TIMON, a well-known ranchman of this section and a resident of Beeville for the past ten years, died in San Antonio last Tuesday morning after an illness of several weeks. The parents of Mr. Timon, John and Ellen KEATING Timon, were among the earliest settlers in southwest Texas, being a part of the colony from Ireland that sought a home here in the middle part of last century. John being born 1 May 1828 in Sligo County, Ireland to Patrick Timon and Cecelia MCGLOIN, and Ellen, born 1832 in Tipperary, Ireland to John Bereford KEATING and Mary KICKHAM of Ireland. John and Ellen both died in Corpus Christi and are buried in San Patricio. The deceased was the eldest son and on February 14th of the present year had celebrated his 51st anniversary, the year of birth 1856, being the first white child born in Live Oak County where the family homestead, which he inherited, originally was. At the time the subject of this sketch was intimately associated with the dominant industry of the county, that of cattle raising and was a pioneer in introducing new and improved breed and met with a measure of success in the enterprises in which he engaged. In 1881, he was united in marriage to Miss Agnes "Aggie" Cecilia HART, a daughter of Tim Hart, one of the first settlers of Bee County, and prominent in its affairs for many years. Of this union seven children, four boys and three girls and his devoted wife survive him. Sons were Lee Timon, and wife Frances Mae CORLEY, Henry Timon, and wife Emily McWHORTER, Amos Graves Timon and wife Ella ElLIS and Beasley Timon. Daughters were Belle Timon, wife of Sam BLAIR, Marguerite Timon wife of O'BRIEN. In addition there remain of his immediate family his aged mother, three brothers and three sisters. Messrs. Harry J Timon, and wife Emelia SULLIVAN, daughter of Joseph Sullivan and Theresa HOLLY Sullivan, Edward Canterbury Timon of San Patricio County and wife Josephine BLUNTZER Timon, daughter of Nicholas and Justina Peters Bluntzer. Hon. Walter Frances Timon, County Judge of Nueces County, Texas, and wife Bessie BAKER Timon. Mesdames Elizabeth, wife of J. M. BARRY, and Laura Timon, wife of James Andrew DOLAN of this city and Cecelia Timon, of San Patricio County, wife of Philip LEAHY. Philip was the son of William and Honora CORRIGAN Leahy. The funeral took place in St. Joseph's Church and interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
