WELDER, Ralph, Beeville Bee, Friday, 12 Feb 1904: Ralph WELDER, a well-known former citizen of the county and large landholder, died at Hebbronville, on Monday morning the 8th inst., after an illness of several days with pneumonia. He was a native of Texas, having been born in Refugio county in 1852, his father Thomas Welder, being one of the earliest settlers of that county, having emigrated there from Germany in the early thirties. In 1879 he purchased a ranch near Beeville which he owned until five or six years ago when he sold out and moved west, making Hebbronville his headquarters. His remains were brought to Beeville for burial being interred in the Catholic cemetery Tuesday morning. A brother, Thos. Welder, a sister, Mrs. Mary O'CONNER, his aged mother, Mrs. L. Welder and a wife and two children survive him.
