WILSON, Dorothy Alice, Beeville Bee, Friday, 27 Nov 1891: Death of Dorothy Alice Wilson. After a lingering illness of over a year’s duration, Mrs. Alice Wilson quietly passed away last Sunday night at 9 o’clock in her residence in town. She died of blood poison from a spider bite on her finger. The best skills of Beeville and San Antonio had been employed to combat the grim monster and for the past 6 months she has patiently undergone treatment in the Santa Rosa hospital in San Antonio, only returning home about two weeks ago. Deceased who was the daughter of Turner Marsden and Catherine Parkinson and relict of Joseph Pitt Wilson, was born in Dublin, Ireland, May 3, 1844. Her parents having moved there from England shortly before her birth, and subsequently immigrated to America in 1845 to New York and on to Texas in 1846. Her father died in 1860 from an accidently explosion and her mother preceded her in August 24, 1878. She was married May 30, 1866 and continued to live in the family home to care for her widowed mother. Mrs. Wilson was left a widow, May 18, 1886. Mrs. Wilson leaves a family of five children, the youngest, a daughter who was 18 years old on the day she was buried.
