YOHO, Roscoe Ruben (Ross), Beeville Picayune, Thursday, 9 Mar 1939, front page: Two Beeville Men Die as Result of Highway Crash at Quincy Saturday Night. Cars Demolished in Head-on Collision, Blanconia Man is Slightly Injured. Injuries received in an auto crash Saturday night proved fatal to Warren Vernon REES, 37, and Roscoe Ruben (Ross) Yoho, 43, Beeville residents, and increased to three the number of people killed in highway accidents in Bee County this year. Both men died in a Beeville Hospital, Yoho dying at 10:45 o'clock that night and Rees succumbing three hours later. A third man, Demprey WILLIAMS, 22, Blanconia resident employed in a Beeville garage, received minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was released Tuesday. The accident occurred on Highway 202 near Quincy about 12 miles east of Beeville at 7:30 o'clock, it was reported by E. B. Underwood, a state highway patrolman stationed in Beeville. Accompanied by Yoho, Rees was enroute home from Refugio where they had spent the afternoon. They were driving Rees' light 1928 model sedan. Although no eyewitnesses other than Williams witnessed the crash, an investigation conducted by Patrolman Underwood and Earl Nichols, showed that the machines collided in almost a head-on collision. Williams' automobile was a 1934 model light coupe. Both cars were completely demolished in the crash. Rushed in Galloway's ambulance to the Beeville Hospital, the occupant of Rees' car died shortly afterwards. Both men were employed as oil field workers. Rees was also listed as a highway employee in Bee County. Complete obit of Rees and Yoho will be found on another page of this Beeville Picayune.
