YOUNG, Felix J., Beeville Bee-Picayune, 26 Sep 1940, page 5: Funeral rites for Felix J. Young, 83 Held Here Tuesday. Beeville Resident Dies in Columbus Monday Morning. Funeral services for Felix Young, 83, Beeville resident who died Monday, September 23, at 1 o'clock at Columbus Texas, were held at the Walker Funeral Home in Beeville Tuesday afternoon. Rev. W. C. Binford and Rev. W. B. Billingsley, pastor of First Baptist Church officiated. Burial was made in Glenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers were A. H. Geiselbrecht, P. A. Schulz, G. W. Hatcher, William Cude, S. J. Hirst, and C. B. Hughes. Mr. Young was a native of Missouri, having been born at Franklin on May 27, 1857. He was married to Ruth Upton at Gainesville, Missouri on February 23, 1879. Following the marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Young spent several months in Missouri but in the fall of that year they moved to Oklahoma where they lived for 20 years. Then they moved to Texas settling near Corpus Christi where they operated a small farm. Several years later they moved, this time to Bee County where Mr. Young operated a café and later on a tourist camp and filling station in Beeville until a few years ago when he gave up active work. Mr. and Mrs. Young celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 1939. Mrs. Young preceded him in death several months ago. Surviving are two sons, W. H. Young of Columbus and J. E. Young of Beeville. In addition, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
