RICHARDS, J. H., Beeville Bee, 2 Nov 1900: J. H. Richards, an old and eccentric citizen of the vicinity of Normanna died last Sunday, Oct. 28, 1900 and was buried in the Catholic Cemetery at this place on Monday. The deceased was a native of one of the southern provinces of France and came to this country in 1852. Until three years ago he lived in Refugio where he followed blacksmithing for many years. He was of frugal habits and accumulated quite a fortune in money and land. As he was never married, his fortune will be divided among 7 nephews and nieces. One of his nephews, August Richards was living with him at the time of his death. Two other nephews live in Iowa, the others live in France.
