USSERY, Mrs. Amanda, Beeville Bee, Thursday, 17 Jul 1919, pg 8: MRS. AMANDA USSERY. Mother of Mrs. P. BORROUM, of Pettus, Dies at Home of Mrs. R. MILLER in Caesar Mrs. AMANDA USSERY died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. MILLER, at Caesar, Texas, July 9, 1919 and was buried at Oakville the following day. She was a native Texan, born in Cherokee county, December 9, 1842, when Texas was yet a Republic. Her father, MATHEW PARKER, served as chief justice of Sabine county under SAM HOUSTON's administration. In 1867 she was married to WILLIAM ROBERTSON. Of this marriage there were two children, only one of whom survives her, Mrs. P. BORROUM, of Pettus. In 1873 she was married in Oakville to J. M. USSERY and of this marriage there were five children, of whom three are living: MATT, of Del Rio; MONROE of Mission and Mrs. R. E MILLER, of Caesar. Besides the above named children there are eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother surviving her. The sisters and brother are Mrs. R. A. BROWN of Charco and Mrs. ALF. TALK and J. L PARKER, of Runge.
