WEBSTER, David A., Beeville Bee, 30 Apr 1897: David A. Webster, an old citizen of Bee County, died at the residence of his son, F. A. Webster, in this city this afternoon. The deceased was seventy-five years of age, and a native of the state of New Hampshire. He came to Texas from Lynn, Massachusetts, in 1860, two brothers having preceded him several months before and settled on the Aransas creek. At the outbreak of the civil war he joined the confederate army and served on the Rio Grande. After the war he continued ranching and farming. He is the last of a family of six brothers who descended from a Webster who came over on the Mayflower, the progenitor of several national characters. One son and a daughter survived him, F. A. Webster of this city and Mrs. Anna C. Nyle of Saginaw, Michigan. His funeral occurred Saturday at 11 o’clock, the interment taking place in the Beeville Cemetery.
