Margaret Wood - Services for Mrs. A. W. (Margaret) Wood, 77, of Midland will be held Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Lutrick, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wood died Monday in a Lubbock (Texas) hospital.

She was born Nov. 2, 1909, in Frederick, Oklahoma, where she was reared and attended school. In 1929 she moved to Bartlesville, Okla. She graduated from the Oklahoma School of Arts and Sciences, formerly Oklahoma College or Women, at Chickasha in 1930 with a degree in Education. She taught in Boynton and Preston, Okla.

She married A. W. Wood in Oklahoma City in 1936. For the next several years, they lived in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and other cities in Texas before they moved to Midland in 1952. Mrs. Wood worked for the Midland Independent School District from 1950 until her retirement in 1975. Most of that time was spent teaching at San Jacinto Junior High School.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, A. W. Wood of Midland, two daughters, Patrician Ann Cobb of Midland and Margaret Ann Cook of San Antonio; a son, Richard William Wood of Denton; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family requests memorials be directed to Buddy Wood Sunday School class, First Methodist Church, or to the American Heart Association.
