Ex Governor P. H. BELL of Texas died in Littleton, North Carolina, March 8th after a long illness.

John CARLOW [or Cardlow] [Negro] was lynched near Round Mountain in northern Alabama last night for paying attention to a white girl named STOUT.

Mrs. REEVES returned home from Brenham where she had been to attend death of her mother, Mrs. HOSEA, who died last week,

Mrs. Augusta HOTING, wife of Al, the blacksmith died as the result of a surgical operation by Dr. REES of Brenham. She was Augusta KEMP and seven years ago married Mr. HOTING. There were no children and the remains were buried at Paige, in Bastrop Co. ** In a notice, placed later in the newspaper, Mr. HOTING states Dr. REES had nothing to do with his wife's death.
