Delma Johnson Implement
Company was founded in 1940 by Delma Bryan
Johnson. The original store was
located in a portion of the present
building. In 1944, the store was
expanded to its current size. The
Delma Johnson Implement Company is the
dealer for the John Deere line of farm
machinery.
The use of
tractors was a relatively new concept in
farming in the early 1940's. Delma
traded for livestock and crops from
farmers that were buying their first new
tractors.
In 1958, Delma's
son, Cecil, began working at the
store. Cecil became a partner in the
business in 1972, and is presently
operating the business.
